What is in the tablet—and why it is there.
A short explanation of the highlighted formula, the ingredients we deliberately leave out and the claim boundaries we will not cross.
This page explains the main ingredient roles without pretending a short marketing list replaces the package label. Formulas and suppliers can be updated; always read the bag you receive, especially for allergies or sensitivities.
The highlighted ingredient roles
Plant-derived cleanser
Helps water surround and loosen removable oily or waxy surface film so it can leave during the final rinse.
Baking soda
Supports the water-based soak. Published research on apples has found sodium bicarbonate useful for selected surface pesticide residues, but that result is not a universal ProduceTabs claim.
Citric acid
Works with the tablet system so the dry format disperses through the bowl. It is not added as a citrus fragrance.
Supporting salts and binders
Keep the tablet stable until use and support even dispersion. The current bag carries the complete ingredient declaration for the batch you receive.
Our formula and copy standards
No perfume or essential oils are added to make washed produce smell “clean.”
The tablet is designed to dissolve clear; bowl color is not used as a pesticide test.
ProduceTabs is a purpose-built, complete-rinse system, not a household detergent.
The directions always finish under running water. The wash solution is not intended to remain on food.
No topical wash can remove substances absorbed inside the flesh.
We do not claim ProduceTabs disinfects, sterilizes or eliminates foodborne pathogens.
The FDA recommends washing produce under running water and says commercial produce washes are not recommended because category-wide residue safety and effectiveness have not been established. ProduceTabs is an optional five-minute, complete-rinse routine and does not replace food-safety guidance. Read the FDA guidance.
Ingredient questions
Where can I find the complete ingredient list?+
Read the current bag you receive. The package declaration is the source of truth for that batch; this page explains ingredient roles and deliberate exclusions.
Does ProduceTabs contain calories?+
ProduceTabs is not food or a supplement and has no intended serving. The bowl solution is discarded and the produce is rinsed thoroughly, so it is not marketed as adding calories to your food.
Is it fragrance-free?+
Yes. There is no added fragrance or essential oil. Produce should smell and taste like itself after the required rinse.
Is it organic or certified by the FDA?+
No organic certification is stated, and the FDA does not approve ordinary consumer products in that way. We avoid certification language unless the specific certification has actually been earned.
Is the formula a sanitizer?+
No. ProduceTabs is not marketed to kill bacteria, sanitize or disinfect produce. Continue to follow established food-safety handling guidance.
Know the formula. Know the limit.
Twelve pre-measured bowl washes, no added fragrance and a required fresh-water rinse.
